Nisbets Limited are currently recruiting for an Internal Controls Manager to join our Finance team, supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of internal controls across the business. As an Internal Controls Manager at Nisbets, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effectiveness of financial and operational controls, helping the business maintain strong governance, compliance, and risk management practices. Working closely with the Head of Finance and wider business stakeholders, you will lead the Internal Control Programme across Nisbets. You will act as a trusted business partner, providing practical, hands-on support to teams across the organisation to design, implement, optimise, and monitor internal controls. The successful candidate will be comfortable building strong relationships across multiple functions and ensuring controls remain effective, efficient, and fit for purpose within a fast-paced international business environment. This role will be based at our Fourth Way office in Avonmouth, with flexibility through our hybrid working approach. Key Accountabilities Review and improve financial processes and internal controls across the division. Perform periodic control testing to ensure ongoing compliance and control effectiveness. Represent Nisbets within the wider Bunzl Group Internal Controls community, sharing best practices and supporting change initiatives. Partner with IT and business teams to review systems and controls, ensuring compliance requirements are met. Act as the key contact for all internal control-related requests from Bunzl PLC and Bunzl UK & Ireland. Build strong relationships with stakeholders to promote understanding, ownership, and continuous improvement of controls. Capabilities, Skills and Experience Required Experience within an Internal Audit, Internal Controls, Risk, or SOX Compliance function. Strong understanding of risk management, governance, and internal control frameworks. Professional accounting or audit qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, or equivalent is desirable. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation. Collaborative approach with the ability to build effective relationships across teams. Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
