Nisbets Limited are currently recruiting for a BI and Automation Specialist to join our Finance and IT team, supporting the development of data-driven insights and automation solutions that enhance business performance. As a BI and Automation Specialist at Nisbets, you will play a key role in designing and delivering Power BI dashboards and reports, transforming data from multiple sources into meaningful insights. You will also support the development of automation tools, including Power Apps and AI-enabled workflows, helping to streamline processes and improve efficiency across the business. This is a fast-paced and varied role, requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders. You will work closely with Finance teams and wider business functions to identify opportunities for reporting improvements and automation, ensuring solutions are aligned with business goals. This role will be based at our Fourth Way office in Avonmouth, with flexibility to work from home as part of a hybrid working pattern after a period of training.
Key Accountabilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements, ensuring alignment to business goals.
- Deliver reporting and automation solutions to agreed specifications and timelines.
- Design and implement best practices for data visualisation and report usability.
- Create and maintain data models to support accurate and efficient reporting.
- Transform data from multiple sources into clear, insightful, and visually engaging reports.
- Optimise Power BI reports and dashboards for performance and usability.
- Maintain data quality and integrity across reporting outputs.
- Review and enhance reports regularly to meet evolving business needs.
- Develop and support automation solutions using Power Apps and other tools.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within Finance and across the business.
- Provide training and ongoing support to end-users on reporting and automation tools.
- Stay up to date with developments in Power BI and automation technologies to continuously improve capabilities.
Capabilities, Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience in a BI Developer, Power BI Developer, or automation-focused role.
- Strong proficiency in Power BI (Desktop, Service, and Power Query).
- Solid understanding of data modelling concepts (e.g. star schema, relationships, normalisation).
- Experience using DAX for complex calculations and measures.
- Proficiency in SQL and querying databases.
- Knowledge of ETL processes and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive approach to identifying new tools and automation opportunities.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and integrity.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working with Finance teams.
- Previous experience supporting Finance reporting or processes is essential.
- Experience with Power Apps and Power Automate is desirable.
