We are partnered with a rapidly expanding B2B services business that is currently executing a fierce acquisition strategy. As the Finance Director steps back from the day-to-day to focus purely on M&A execution and investor relations, a critical gap has opened for a Head of Finance to take total ownership of the finance engine room.
This business operates in a high-volume, contract-led environment. They are acquiring competitors, expanding their footprint, and growing their top line at pace. They do not need a traditional accountant to just keep the score; they need a commercial leader to ensure the business scales without breaking.
Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to deliver across three core pillars:
- Integration & Harmonisation: You will be the financial architect behind the acquisitions. As the FD secures the deals, you will financially onboard the new entities, migrating their systems, aligning their controls, and culturally integrating their finance teams into the parent group.
- Commercial Grip: Margin fade is the enemy of a growing PE business. You will partner with operational leaders to ruthlessly track contract profitability, overhaul WIP (Work in Progress) reporting, and ensure cash flow remains highly visible across multiple active projects.
- Building for Scale: The current systems and processes will not support the business when it doubles in size. You will be tasked with stripping back month-end timelines, automating reporting, and building a highly scalable, "best-in-class" control environment.
Who we are looking for
You are a qualified finance leader (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) who has likely cut their teeth in a B2B services, project-driven, or contract-led environment. You understand how to account for complex WIP and project margins.
Crucially, you have the operational battle scars of working in an agile, rapidly changing business. Whether you have navigated post-merger integrations before, or you are a highly commercial finance leader ready to step up and run your own function, you possess the gravitas to push back on operational stakeholders and drive true commercial performance.
