Nirvana Search is partnering with a high-growth, Private Equity-Backed Business Services group to find a hands-on and strategic Group Financial Controller. This is a unique opportunity for a finance leader to take ownership of the financial control and operations function, guiding the business through its next phase of rapid scaling and value creation.

The Role

This is a key leadership position where you will be responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, operations, and strategic financial management. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the finance function as the company grows, driving efficiency, integrating acquisitions, and implementing best-in-class processes across the organisation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Driving Financial Integrity: Oversee the preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements, ensuring accuracy and full compliance with UK GAAP. You will lead and coordinate all external audits and strengthen internal control frameworks to ensure robust financial integrity across the group.
  • Corporate Governance & Strategic Tax: You will be responsible for ensuring audit readiness, coordinating external audits, and maintaining compliance with tax regulations. This includes overseeing the group’s tax strategy and strengthening internal controls.
  • Finance Transformation & Systems: You will be instrumental in the strategic direction of financial systems, driving digital transformation and process optimisation to ensure the finance infrastructure supports a scaling business.
  • People & Performance Leadership: Lead and mentor a talented finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for the team's professional development, ensuring the function scales effectively with the business.
  • Shaping Growth & M&A Integration: Provide financial expertise and support for future M&A activities. You will lead post-acquisition integrations, helping to implement scalable financial governance and unified reporting for newly acquired entities.

Knowledge and Experience

We are looking for a proactive and experienced finance professional who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment. A fully qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA), with a preference for ACA. Proven experience in a complex, multi-entity business, ideally within a Private Equity backed environment. Strong technical background in audit, statutory reporting, and group consolidation. A track record of building and developing high-performing finance teams and transforming financial operations. Previous experience as a Financial Controller in a scaling business services or multi-site environment is highly desirable.
