JOB PURPOSE
To be an advocate for adding commercial value to the business, continuously developing and improving our commercial reporting.
Helping drive business performance across multiple brands and market(s).
As a Business Finance Analyst, you will be responsible for building, modelling, creating and automating reports.
In your role you will be carrying out regular analysis for all areas of the business, sales, costs and investments.
You will be supporting management and teams by identifying risks and opportunities.
You will be reporting to and supporting the Finance Business Partner in improving performance across each brand and market, both financially and operationally.
- KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with the wider commercial team to understand key drivers of revenue and profitability.
- Building a detailed understanding of the P&L, communicating brand results highlighting, key income drivers to stakeholders.
- Drive improvement throughout the P&L, challenging key metrics and identify areas of opportunity.
- Build forecasting models to demonstrate our current performance and expected future value.
- Use third party data to analyse market share and areas of over/under performance. New product development analysis.
- Add commercial control to all decisions in the FP&A area, considering the P&L contribution impact.
- Providing modelling support for business cases/investments.
- Evaluating business cases for investment decisions, challenging where necessary
- Analysing sales, costs and investments to support commercial & marketing teams, by providing performance analysis to identify gaps, actuals vs forecast and budget.
- Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process across all brands and markets.
- Carry out profit analysis on brand market mix at the SKU level.
- Analyse and report on ROI for our key business partners and prepare business cases to drive better margins.
- Follow up on performance and investments vs agreements with customers, (retailers, distributors etc.
- Participate and add value to multifunctional task forces to drive efficiency and improve business understanding and monitoring.
- Report on royalty whilst ensuring compliance with the contract(s).
- Provide help and support on ad hoc projects as required by business needs.
REQUIREMENTS
- Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA, or QBE
- Minimum 3+ years of business finance / commercial analytical experience, in an accounting department or in a similar role
- Experience working within a commercial or accounting function pulling together financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills and excellent Microsoft Office skills
- Business Finance experience, with exceptional commercial acumen
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Enthusiastic and curious individual who is collaborative and positive
- Hardworking & flexible individual with a hands-on approach
