We are looking for an experienced HGV2 Delivery Driver to join our friendly team. As a key part of our operation, you will support the manufacture and distribution of solid CO₂ (Dry Ice). We’re seeking someone with strong delivery experience, excellent customer service skills, and a flexible, proactive “can‑do” approach. In this fast‑paced and demanding environment, you will be responsible for the timely delivery of Dry Ice products as well as the collection of empty bins, ensuring our customers receive exceptional service every time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out the timely delivery of Dry Ice and the collection of empty bins, working closely with the Logistics Coordinator to ensure all customer requirements are met.
  • Represent Nippon Gases professionally at all times, maintaining high standards of conduct and customer service.
  • Be willing to undertake occasional night‑outs where required to complete scheduled deliveries.
  • Safely operate 18t and 26t delivery vehicles, adhering to the Highway Code at all times.
  • Complete daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Accurately complete defect sheets and promptly report any issues to the Logistics Coordinator or Senior Driver.
  • Verify loaded containers against daily manifests to ensure all goods are on board before leaving the yard.
  • Ensure all loads are safely secured prior to departure.
  • Deliver Dry Ice to customers within the timeframes specified on the daily manifest, using the electronic delivery system.
  • Report any safety issues encountered on the road or at customer sites.
  • Maintain full compliance with the Working Time Directive at all times.

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

  • HGV Class 2 Licence
  • Minimum 2 years’ commercial driving experience
  • Strong safety record with a proactive approach to safe working practices
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience delivering temperature‑controlled or hazardous products
  • Familiarity with electronic delivery/manifest systems
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced logistics or industrial environment
