We're looking for a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer with deep VMware and storage expertise to join a high-performing data centre engineering environment. This is not a support desk role — we need someone who genuinely understands enterprise infrastructure, enjoys troubleshooting complex environments, and takes ownership of problems through to resolution.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Testing and validating infrastructure solutions in a controlled lab environment before production deployment
  • Building, configuring and managing VMware environments across vSphere, ESXi and vCenter
  • Working extensively with vMotion, DRS, HA, performance optimisation and resource management
  • Managing storage and SAN infrastructure including multipathing, connectivity validation, access control and performance troubleshooting
  • Performing pre-production testing of server and infrastructure changes
  • Documenting test outcomes, identifying issues and proposing practical solutions
  • Collaborating closely with internal Data Centre Engineering teams to support successful delivery

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong infrastructure or data centre engineering background
  • Deep hands-on VMware expertise — vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vMotion, DRS, HA and enterprise resource management
  • Strong storage/SAN experience including SMB/NFS, multipathing and storage performance troubleshooting
  • Experience with hardware management consoles such as Dell iDRAC, HP iLO and/or Lenovo XClarity
  • Good networking fundamentals with the ability to troubleshoot infrastructure-layer connectivity issues
  • Windows Server 2016 / 2019 / 2022 experience
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset — someone who takes ownership and works problems through independently
  • Experience within lab, pre-production or test environments would be highly advantageous
