Overview
My client are seeking an experienced Data Centre Deployment Lead to support a large-scale, time-critical deployment project based on-site in Slough. This is a hands-on, on-the-ground role requiring strong coordination, technical awareness, and stakeholder management skills within a live data centre environment.
Working Pattern
Full-time, on-site 5 days per week (09:00–17:00). Attendance at on-site stand-ups and deployment meetings as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate day-to-day data centre deployment activities.
- Provide on-site oversight and supervision of local contractors and deployment teams.
- Support validation and hands-on tasks including cable resets, cable swaps, reboots, and basic troubleshooting.
- Act as the on-site “overwatch”, proactively identifying issues and ensuring swift resolution.
- Work closely with remote customer project managers, joining daily coordination calls.
- Identify risks, blockers, or quality issues and escalate appropriately to the PM.
- Represent the customer on-site, acting as a trusted front-facing presence.
- Own immediate escalation cycles and incident coordination.
- Produce daily and weekly status reports, covering progress, risks, and actions.
- Ensure deployment activities align with agreed plans, timelines, and best practices.
