As we scale our engineering team, we are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to help define and implement our quality assurance strategy. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, performance, and quality of our products as we grow. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys building QA processes, automation frameworks, and testing strategies from the ground up within a fast-moving startup environment.
The Role
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining high quality standards across our mobile, web, and backend systems. You will work closely with engineering, product, and design teams to ensure features are thoroughly tested and production-ready. You will also drive automation, documentation, and testing best practices while supporting our release cycles and improving our overall QA infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies for mobile, web, and backend systems.
- Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for UI, API, and end-to-end scenarios.
- Conduct functional, regression, and exploratory testing to validate new features.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, product, and design teams to define test requirements and ensure feature testability.
- Participate in planning sessions to ensure quality is embedded early in the development lifecycle.
- QA Processes & Documentation
- Establish and promote QA best practices, tools, and processes across the engineering team.
- Create and maintain test cases, QA documentation, and testing frameworks.
- Coordinate with Product and Engineering teams on test case updates and approvals prior to feature and bug releases.
- Bug Tracking & Debugging
- Identify, document, and track bugs using tools such as Linear or Jira.
- Work closely with developers to ensure efficient bug resolution.
- Produce technical artifacts for low-level issues, including API failures and integration errors.
- Automation & CI/CD
- Continuously expand test automation coverage.
- Support the implementation of testing within CI/CD pipelines to enable faster and safer releases.
Experience
- 7+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance
- Experience testing mobile and web applications
- Proven experience building or maintaining automation frameworks
Technical Skills
- Experience with automation tools such as:
- Playwright
- Detox
- Cypress
- Jest
Core Skills
- Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
- Strong analytical and debugging capabilities
