Our client, a large-scale Scottish manufacturer, are looking for an experienced Food Safety Lead to join them on a permanent basis. Rather than stepping into an existing system, this person will have the opportunity to build out the food safety framework and shape the culture around it from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the site Food Safety Management System, providing functional oversight of the Microbiology Laboratory, and managing food safety incidents across both alcoholic and non-alcoholic product lines.
  • Drive a strong food safety culture across a high-volume bottling operation.
  • This is a site that operates at serious scale, so there is real scope and visibility in this position.

Qualifications

  • From a beverage or high-risk food manufacturing background — spirits, RTDs, soft drinks, dairy or similar.
  • Strong HACCP / FSSC 22000 knowledge — this is non-negotiable.
  • Hands-on microbiology experience alongside food safety systems leadership.
  • Experience with low or no-alcohol products would be a real advantage.
