About the Role
Our client is a commercially driven group business seeking a Junior Business Analyst to support the practical delivery of AI, automation and digital improvement projects across the organisation. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role — the successful candidate will work within the Business Transformation function to help move the business from AI experimentation into a structured delivery model with measurable outcomes. Working closely with colleagues across Sales, Operations, Procurement, Finance, Customer Service, Warehousing and IT, you will help identify opportunities, gather requirements, prototype solutions and support adoption of new tools and ways of working across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of practical AI and automation initiatives, helping projects move from idea through prototype to live business adoption.
- Work with departments to understand current processes, challenges and opportunities where AI can improve efficiency, decision-making, customer experience or commercial performance.
- Help build and test AI-enabled solutions using tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Power Platform and other low-code/no-code workflow automation technologies.
- Help maintain simple, repeatable delivery frameworks for AI projects, covering use case definition, prioritisation, testing, deployment and adoption tracking.
- Support the development of internal AI capability by contributing to playbooks, supporting workshops and helping establish a network of AI champions across the business.
- Work with IT, development and data teams to ensure AI solutions are secure, scalable and aligned to the organisation's technology standards.
- Support commercial improvement initiatives through AI-driven insight, including pricing, quote follow-up, customer engagement, sales productivity and operational reporting.
- Help structure business knowledge, documents and data sources so they can be used effectively and responsibly within AI assistants, copilots and automation workflows.
Skills & Experience
- Some exposure to, or a strong interest in, business transformation, automation, digital improvement or operational change within a commercial environment.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot and prompt engineering.
- A good understanding of business processes, with the ability to identify inefficiency, duplication and opportunities for improvement.
- Some exposure to automation and low-code/no-code platforms such as Power Automate, Power Apps, Zapier or Make would be advantageous.
- Good data literacy, with the ability to work with business data, reporting outputs and operational information to support AI use cases.
- Some exposure to ERP systems, CRM platforms or BI tools — NetSuite, Phocas or Microsoft 365 experience is advantageous.
What We're Looking For
- A curious, proactive self-starter who is comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where AI tools and business requirements are constantly evolving.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across departments.
- A confident communicator who can simplify complex technology, create clear documentation and help users adopt new ways of working.
- Highly organised, with the ability to support multiple workstreams simultaneously and help maintain clear visibility of priorities and progress.
- A developing commercial awareness, with an understanding of efficiency, margin, sales productivity and customer experience drivers.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Basic understanding of APIs, integrations, SQL, Python or system architecture — hands-on delivery and adoption experience takes priority over deep technical coding ability.
- Awareness of AI governance, data protection, cyber security and responsible AI principles.
- Experience working in distribution, aftermarket parts, construction, manufacturing, logistics or similar operational sectors.
