Our client is a fast-growing Microsoft Partner operating at the forefront of AI enablement and intelligent business transformation. They work with enterprise clients across the UK to deploy practical AI solutions, build internal capability, and drive measurable business outcomes across the full Microsoft AI stack. As they continue to scale their delivery function, they are looking for a Lead Power Platform Consultant to own the technical direction of their Power Platform practice and act as the senior authority across delivery, architecture and client strategy, including within financial services accounts.

This is a senior, client-facing leadership role where you will set the technical standards for how Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Copilot Studio are delivered across the business, while directly leading the consultants and developers who build them. The role is remote-first, but you'll need to be able to travel to London when client engagements require it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the technical strategy and architecture standards for the Power Platform practice, ensuring solutions are consistent, scalable and enterprise-grade across all client engagements.
  • Act as the senior escalation point and trusted advisor for key clients, including financial services accounts, on complex or high-risk delivery decisions.
  • Lead the design and architecture of the most complex client solutions across Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Dataverse.
  • Line-manage and develop a team of Power Platform Consultants and Developers, owning career progression, technical upskilling and delivery quality across the team.
  • Architect and govern integration strategy between Power Platform, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365 and third-party systems via APIs and connectors.
  • Set direction on the adoption of Copilot Studio and AI-powered workflows across client engagements, staying ahead of the practice on capability and best practice.
  • Own delivery governance, including ALM strategy, environment management and deployment standards, across the wider team.
  • Lead pre-sales activity for Power Platform engagements, including solution scoping, technical proposals and client pitches.
  • Represent the Power Platform practice in internal leadership discussions, contributing to hiring, delivery frameworks and the wider AI enablement roadmap.
  • Own and evolve internal accelerators, reusable component libraries and best-practice frameworks across the practice.

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive, demonstrable leadership experience across Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate and Power BI, gained within a consultancy or Microsoft Partner environment.
  • Proven experience leading or managing a team of Power Platform professionals, including technical mentoring and career development.
  • Deep expertise in Dataverse, data modelling, and enterprise-grade Power Platform governance and security.
  • Strong track record integrating Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365, Azure and external systems via REST APIs and custom connectors.
  • Significant experience with Copilot Studio or AI Builder, with the credibility to set direction on their use across a practice.
  • Strong command of ALM practices, including solution management, environment strategy and deployment pipelines, at a governance level.
  • Financial services experience is beneficial, given the client base this role will support.
  • Comfortable owning senior client relationships, pre-sales conversations and escalation management across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Able to travel to London as required by client engagements, alongside a primarily remote working pattern.

What We're Looking For

  • A senior leader who combines strong technical credibility with the ability to manage and grow people.
  • A confident, polished communicator who can operate comfortably at C-suite and senior stakeholder level.
  • Someone with a genuine passion for AI and the Microsoft ecosystem, capable of shaping how Copilot and agent-based delivery evolves across the practice.
  • A natural coach and mentor, invested in building the capability of the wider team.
  • Commercially aware, comfortable contributing to proposals, pricing conversations and practice growth.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications such as PL-200, PL-400 or PL-600.
  • Experience with Azure services including Logic Apps, Azure Functions or Azure OpenAI.
  • Strong exposure to Dynamics 365 and its integration with the Power Platform.
  • Background in software development with knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript or C#.
  • Prior leadership experience within an AI consultancy, Microsoft Partner or managed service environment, ideally supporting financial services clients.

How to prepare for a job interview at Nine Twenty

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Nine Twenty uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
