A rapidly expanding EV charging solutions provider is looking to appoint a Head of Operations to support the next phase of its growth. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager, Project Manager or Installations Lead who is ready to step into a broader leadership role and take greater ownership of operational delivery.
The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Head of Operations will oversee day-to-day operational activity across installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of EV charging solutions. You’ll coordinate internal teams and external contractors, ensure smooth project delivery for commercial clients, and drive quality, safety and efficiency across all operational workflows. The role is Glasgow-based, working closely with the leadership team, with occasional travel to project sites across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the operational delivery of EV charging installations from planning to handover.
- Coordinate engineers, contractors and suppliers to ensure smooth and timely delivery.
- Oversee maintenance schedules, service activities and fault resolution.
- Support the implementation of operational processes, documentation and best-practice standards.
- Monitor installation performance, service-level metrics and operational KPIs.
- Work with commercial and technical teams to support accurate project scoping and client expectations.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and electrical installation standards.
- Play a key role in developing a strong operations culture as the business grows.
Essential:
- Background in operations, project delivery or installations within engineering, electrical, construction, telecoms or a similar sector.
- Experience coordinating field teams, contractors or multi-site projects.
- Strong organisational skills, capable of managing parallel projects and priorities.
- Good understanding of health & safety, quality assurance and operational standards.
- Confident communicator who can work effectively with clients, suppliers and internal teams.
- Ambitious, proactive and ready for a step up into a broader leadership role.
Desirable:
- Experience in EV charging, energy infrastructure or electrical installations (not essential).
- Exposure to fast-growing or scale-up environments.
- Understanding of charger technologies or remote monitoring platforms.
