About the Company
We're working with a well-known and much-loved Scottish retailer with a strong ecommerce presence and a digital team that's genuinely invested in doing things properly. They've recently replatformed onto Shopify and are now looking to build on that foundation. SEO is a core channel for the business, not an afterthought.
About the Job
You’ll take full ownership of the organic search strategy across their ecommerce site, from technical SEO and Core Web Vitals through to keyword strategy, content optimisation, and link acquisition. This is a hands‑on, high‑visibility role where your work will have a direct and measurable impact on traffic and revenue. Day to day you’ll be running site audits, managing crawl health and site architecture, working with the development team on front-end performance, and ensuring structured data, sitemaps and redirect strategies are all properly implemented. You’ll collaborate closely with digital designers, content teams and the performance marketing, and you’ll act as the internal SEO authority, translating technical detail into clear recommendations for wider stakeholders. Reporting covers weekly and monthly performance across rankings, traffic and channel contribution.
About You
You’ll have a few years of hands‑on SEO experience, ideally within ecommerce or a commercially driven environment. Strong technical SEO knowledge is essential: crawling, indexing, canonicalisation, structured data, along with proven experience on Shopify or a comparable platform. You’ll be proficient across Google Search Console, GA4, Google Tag Manager, Screaming Frog and Ahrefs or SEMrush, and you’ll have a demonstrable track record of improving organic performance commercially. A proactive, data‑led mindset and the ability to communicate complex SEO concepts clearly to non-technical teams will set you apart. A love of the outdoors is a genuine bonus!
