Nine Twenty are delighted to be supporting a hugely successful Manufacturing client based in Ayrshire. They are looking for a highly organised and proactive individual to join their team as a Material Planner. This role involves collaborating closely with Supply Chain and Production to ensure materials are delivered on time and in full, supporting production schedules. The role is well suited for someone with a couple of years' experience within Material Planning, Material Scheduling or a junior Procurement position that wants to join an exciting industry.
About You:
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in material scheduling, planning, or a similar role.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and numerical skills.
- Excel Skills: Basic to intermediate proficiency in Excel.
- ERP/MRP Systems: Experience working with ERP or MRP systems.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Prioritisation: Able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create Weekly Supplier Schedules: Develop and maintain weekly material delivery schedules to ensure products are available when needed, while also balancing warehouse capacity.
- Plan Material Deliveries: Use production schedules and ERP/MRP systems to plan and coordinate material deliveries for the week.
- Coordinate with Internal Teams: Communicate plans with internal warehouse teams and confirm delivery dates and times for each supplier and shipment.
- Supplier Communication: Share final delivery schedules with suppliers, confirm receipt, and coordinate specific delivery slots as required.
- Inventory and Order Management: Create and manage supplier purchase orders in SAP. Ensure all transactions are completed correctly to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Optimise Transportation: Work with suppliers to optimise transportation efficiency and reduce logistics costs wherever possible.
- Issue Resolution: Act as the main point of contact for any delivery issues, escalating unresolved problems to the relevant teams.
- Collaborate with Production Planning: Regularly review production plans and adapt material supply to accommodate any changes.
- Performance Tracking: Help establish KPIs to track and report supplier delivery performance, ensuring all data is accurately recorded.
