Legal Counsel
Scotland or UK-based (Hybrid) | 💼 Permanent | Tech/SaaS Environment
A client of ours – a high-growth, PE-backed tech business – is looking to bring legal support in-house for the first time and has asked us to support the search for a confident, commercially minded Legal Counsel.
This is a brilliant opportunity for a qualified solicitor with 2–4 years’ PQE to step into a standalone in-house role with wide exposure across the business. You’ll work closely with the CFO and leadership team, advising on everything from contracts to data protection and commercial risk.
What you’ll be doing:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts (SaaS, supplier, data processing)
- Advising on commercial, regulatory and risk matters (UK & international)
- Supporting procurement, IP, licensing and GDPR compliance
- Owning legal templates and contract processes
- Providing training and guidance to internal stakeholders
- Managing external legal counsel when needed
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales, Scotland, or equivalent)
- 2–4 years' PQE, ideally with SaaS/tech experience
- Confident in contract negotiation and legal drafting
- Solid knowledge of UK GDPR
- Someone comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment
