About the Role

Our client is a commercially driven, multi-site group business seeking an AI Transformation Lead to accelerate the practical delivery of AI, automation and digital improvement projects across the organisation. This is not a theoretical or research-focused role — the successful candidate will be responsible for turning AI ideas into live, usable business solutions that improve operational efficiency, customer experience, commercial performance and scalability. Working within the Business Transformation function and closely alongside the CIO, you will partner with teams across Sales, Operations, Finance, Procurement, Customer Service, Warehousing and IT to identify opportunities, manage delivery and drive adoption. The core priority is moving the business from AI experimentation into a structured delivery model with measurable outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading the end-to-end execution of AI and automation initiatives, taking projects from idea through prototype to live business adoption.
  • Partnering with departments to map current processes, identify inefficiencies, and design AI-enabled solutions using tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, ChatGPT, Claude and low-code/no-code workflow platforms.
  • Building simple, repeatable delivery frameworks covering use case definition, prioritisation, testing, deployment and adoption tracking.
  • Coaching users, running workshops and establishing a network of AI champions to develop internal capability across the business.
  • Managing multiple workstreams simultaneously, maintaining visibility of priorities, blockers, benefits and delivery progress.
  • Supporting commercial improvement initiatives through AI-driven insight across areas such as pricing, quote follow-up, sales productivity and operational reporting.
  • Championing responsible AI use, ensuring appropriate consideration of data protection, security, accuracy and business risk throughout.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience delivering business transformation, automation or digital improvement projects in a commercial environment.
  • Practical hands-on exposure to AI tools — Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, prompt engineering and AI workflow automation.
  • Experience with low-code/no-code platforms such as Power Automate, Power Apps, Zapier or Make.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Good data literacy and commercial acumen, with an understanding of efficiency, margin, sales productivity and EBITDA drivers.
  • Highly organised and delivery-focused, comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Background in distribution, aftermarket parts, manufacturing, logistics or similar operational sectors is advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of APIs, SQL, Python or system architecture is desirable but not essential — delivery and adoption experience takes priority.

Why Apply?

This is a high-impact, visible role at the heart of a growing organisation's digital transformation agenda. You'll have genuine autonomy to shape how AI is adopted across the business and leave a tangible footprint across multiple functions.
