A community-focused development organisation is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation through its next phase of growth, sustainability, and impact. The organisation delivers programmes supporting young people and families, alongside operating a training academy and social enterprise ventures.
Role
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership, operational oversight, and overall direction of the organisation. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, and outcomes-focused services, while maintaining financial sustainability and responding to evolving needs of individuals, families, and communities. You will also lead on organisational development, income generation, and partnership engagement with funders, local authorities, and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Setting and delivering strategic vision and business plans with the Board
- Leading organisational development, transformation, and continuous improvement
- Ensuring financial performance, budgeting, and long-term sustainability
- Overseeing service delivery, safeguarding, and performance frameworks

About you
You will bring significant senior leadership experience, ideally within the voluntary, community, or not-for-profit sector. Experience leading strategy, organisational change, and improvement. Strong financial management and sustainability planning. Experience working with Boards or governance structures. Knowledge of safeguarding and working with young people. Strong communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills. A clear commitment to community development, equality, and social impact.
