Bottling Hall Engineer (Mechanical/Multi-Skilled) West Lothian
Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading FMCG company to find an experienced Mechanical/Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their team in West Lothian.
Responsibilities
- Support main Engineering operations and objectives.
- Carry out all work in a hygienic manner and contribute to the hygienic condition of the site.
- Provide Engineering support to Operations as per schedules.
- Duties include (but are not limited to): reacting promptly to breakdowns and inspection, equipment overhauls and carrying out scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance.
- Actively use CMMS System.
- Installation and commissioning of new equipment/machinery, including hardware upgrades to palletization, bottling labelling, case packing and conveyor systems, replacements of pumps, gearboxes, motors, valves, etc.
- Installing, inspecting, and repairing equipment in (ATEX/DSEAR) hazardous areas.
- Maintain service records for plant and equipment, including monitoring and reporting on equipment running conditions.
- Contribute to incident investigations and equipment failure root cause analysis to design out issues and improve engineering practices.
- Using knowledge of plant, participate in HAZOPs, MOC, SIL Assessments etc.
- Coordination with Management to ensure spare parts availability and specification, active participant in obsolescence review.
- Successfully complete all necessary training (job competency, SHE and regulatory).
- Meet company targets and help drive continuous improvement in operational efficiencies and SHE.
- Complete all administrative and data collection tasks as required.
- Contribute to SOP development.
- Provide shift/out of hours plant support as required.
Requirements
- Qualified in relevant Engineering discipline having served a recognised apprenticeship, demonstrate competency in those areas.
- Significant experience and knowledge of relevant area (FMCG environment, building services) and knowledge of H&S legislation.
- Prior working experience in FMCG.
- Experience of working as a Mechanical Engineer within a COMAH or high-risk facility.
- Have completed a recognised 4-year apprenticeship.
- Excellent planning and implementation skills.
- Be a self-starter and has the confidence to work on their own initiative.
- Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
