Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are delighted to be working in partnership with InchDairnie Distillery, in their need for an Engineering Business Leader at their Whisky Distillery in Fife. InchDairnie Distillery in Fife is a young ingenious distillery and is perhaps described best by Whisky Writer Dave Broom as the distillery “other distillers will be looking at for years to come”. Their innovative equipment makes them capable of channelling and extracting flavours like no other. They implement a multi-dimensional approach aiming to deliver a unique complexity. They distil whiskies with the purpose to excite consumers’ palate.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring that assets are managed efficiently, maintenance operations are optimised, and the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) is utilised to its full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate maintenance activities in collaboration with the operational site team, prioritising staff safety at all times.
  • Ensure the efficient and effective management of all distillery assets to optimise performance and reliability.
  • Maintain clear communication with teams regarding project activities, fostering a culture of accountability and ensuring operators report breakdowns promptly and accurately.
  • Act as the site champion for change management, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Liaise with and manage contractors to ensure high-quality service delivery and compliance with site standards.
  • Perform equipment testing and calibration, maintaining accurate records within the CMMS.
  • Supervise the installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring seamless integration into operations.
  • Update and maintain OEM manuals and site P&ID documents to ensure accurate technical records.
  • Oversee the closure of all Planning Permission Consent conditions and secure building warrant sign-offs.
  • Actively contribute to the Health & Safety of the InchDairnie distillery, promoting a safe and compliant working environment.

Skills required:

  • You will be a mechanical or multiskilled engineer from a distillery or process plant background or similar.
  • You will have strong experience in maintenance management.
  • You will have excellent communication skills.
  • You will have excellent change management experience.
