Multi-Skilled Distillery Engineer
Perthshire
Approx 40 hours per week
Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are delighted to be supporting our Distilling client in their search for a hands on Multi Skilled Engineer.
Role Purpose:
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the distillery’s equipment covering distillation, fermentation, maturation, blending & bottling. Reporting to the Distillery Manager, you will provide effective reactive maintenance for breakdowns and take a leading role in preventive planned maintenance (PPM) across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the health and safety of yourself and others.
- Manage day-to-day asset performance, maintenance delivery, and planning within the distillery, including planned shutdowns.
- Carry out preventative maintenance (PPM) throughout the site.
- Introduce and support condition-based monitoring.
- Manage critical spares for the distillery.
- Support capex investments and improvement projects.
- Assist the bottling hall as required, covering issues, holidays, and absences.
- Troubleshoot and document issues related to quality, environment, health, and safety.
- Collaborate with the wider production and support team to achieve targets.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Strong mechanical engineering background, with electrical experience (e.g., ATEX) being a plus.
- Experience in maintaining and managing boilers.
- Highly motivated with a background in continuous improvement.
- Proven maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within FMCG, distilling, or brewing.
- Ability to identify and resolve equipment issues effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a cross-functional team.
- A valid forklift truck license would be beneficial but is not essential.
