Bank Receptionist (Whitby Hospital Extended Access Service)

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Nimbuscare team in the role of Receptionist to support the delivery of the Extended Access service at Whitby Hospital on behalf of the Whitby Coast and Moors Primary Care Network. You will be the first point of contact for patients, arriving for a face‑to‑face appointment, and will be friendly and welcoming. You will ensure an efficient and professional reception provision and work to ensure a positive patient experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for patients and visitors arriving.
  • Report and action facility issues and faults where required.
  • Escalate health and safety and facility issues where appropriate.
  • Support the clinical teams with basic requests.
  • Manage the waiting room area while patients wait to be seen.
  • Interact with patients to provide information, signposting, and advice.
  • Demonstrate a competent level of interpersonal skills.
  • Manage and prioritise own workload.
  • Ensure the clinical rooms are stocked where appropriate.
  • Any other duties as directed.
  • Complete administrative tasks as directed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 2 Maths and English or equivalent (GCSE Grade C or Grade 4 or above).
  • 6 months minimum experience in a similar role.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Understand and observe strict confidentiality.
  • Experience working within the NHS or general practice.
  • Experience with SystmOne.

  • Ability to travel across various sites when required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
