Are you ready to shape the future of data-driven insights and AI innovation? We\’re seeking a Data Engineer to join the Nimbus team and be at the forefront of building a cutting-edge data ecosystem that fuels powerful insights, drives strategic decisions, and lays the groundwork for AI innovation.
About the Role
As a Data Engineer, you will design and implement a scalable data architecture for Nimbus, managing data extraction, transformation, and integration with third-party sources to enhance analytics capabilities. Collaborating with stakeholders, you\’ll develop data models that support diverse reporting needs and create dashboards to deliver valuable insights. Additionally, you’ll lay the foundation for future AI-driven initiatives aimed at predictive analytics and proactive decision-making.
Responsibilities
- System Design & Architecture: investigate, select and implement the tooling and technologies required to build out an end to end data warehouse solution taking in every aspect of Extraction, Loading and Transformation (ELT) taking into account the current and future requirements of Nimbus.
- Third-Party Data Integration: Identify opportunities to ingest data from third parties to enrich our current reporting capabilities and implement integrations to facilitate such a strategy.
- Data Modelling: Liaise with key stakeholders to understand the reporting requirements for internal and external customer use cases from multiple internal and external data sources.
- Analytics & Business Intelligence (BI): Identify and implement a strategy to create reports and dashboards that enable valuable insights and BI to be mined from the data warehouse. Look into the available third party tool options to allow advanced report building capabilities as well as providing embedded BI into our existing products.
- AI Foundations: Lay the foundations to enable development of a future AI strategy to provide predictive decision making around fire risk assessment and proactive maintenance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with a range of Database technologies specifically around analytical data warehouse/data lake solutions.
- Experience in using ETL/ELT tooling and building data pipelines.
- Experience in both relational and no SQL database technologies.
- Good working knowledge of appropriate programming languages (SQL, Python, Java, Bash/Shell Scripting).
- Experience in modelling complex data to answer business critical questions.
- Experience using data visualization tools for BI insights and data analytics.
