The Client

Our client is an established specialist contractor delivering complex building services projects, with a growing presence across the data centre and mission-critical sectors. The business has secured a strong pipeline of technically challenging work and is continuing to invest in the senior technical capability needed to support its growth. This is not a contractor chasing volume for the sake of it. The focus is on delivering complex projects properly, building long-term client relationships and maintaining a strong reputation for technical quality. You will be joining an experienced team where technical expertise is respected and where the right person will have genuine visibility across the wider business.

The Role

The Electrical Technical Manager will take ownership of the electrical technical and design process across multiple projects, working closely with the Technical Director, pre-construction teams, project delivery teams, consultants and specialist subcontractors. Your involvement will cover the full project lifecycle, including:

  • Reviewing project specifications, tender information and client requirements
  • Identifying technical risks, scope gaps and value-engineering opportunities
  • Leading and coordinating internal and external electrical designs
  • Reviewing consultant and subcontractor design proposals
  • Producing and approving calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports
  • Ensuring compliance with UK regulations, contractual requirements and current legislation
  • Supporting projects through pre-construction, detailed design, installation and commissioning
  • Resolving complex technical queries before they affect cost or programme
  • Maintaining design intent throughout project development and change
  • Supporting technical sign-off, handover information and O
