The role involves:
- Assisting with the management of mechanical building services projects from initial handover through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
- Supporting with the procurement of plant, materials and subcontractor packages, helping to secure best value while keeping projects within budget.
- Helping assess labour requirements, coordinating site resource and monitoring progress to ensure works are delivered on programme.
- Attending site regularly to monitor quality, progress, health and safety, and resolve day-to-day issues alongside site teams, engineers and subcontractors.
- Assisting with monthly applications for payment, variation costing, purchasing records, project spend forecasts and work-in-progress reports.
- Supporting the preparation and monitoring of RAMS, ensuring site teams are working safely and in line with current legislation and company standards.
- Working closely with clients, consultants, architects, surveyors, internal design teams and site teams to ensure clear communication throughout the project.
- Assisting with tender submissions, project handovers, certification, commissioning records and the preparation of O&M manuals.
Requirements include:
- A mechanical building services background.
- Experience within HVAC, pipework, heating, ventilation, public health or mechanical installation.
- Some project management experience, or a strong trade/supervisory background with the desire to move into management.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- A current CSCS card or NVQ Level 3 would be highly beneficial.
- Good communication skills and confidence dealing with site teams, subcontractors and clients.
- A genuine desire to learn, develop and progress into a Contracts Manager role.
Salary: Around £45,000 - £48,000 depending on experience.
Car allowance: Negotiable.
Holiday: 25 days per annum.
