About Nimble

Nimble is a boutique technology consultancy based in the UK North; Sheffield, Leeds and Manchester. We partner with ambitious clients across the public and private sectors to design, build, and optimize digital services that deliver real value. We pride ourselves on our agile mindset, our creative problem-solving, and our collaborative culture.

The Role

This is a defining role for a technology leader who wants to bridge the gap between complex engineering and commercial strategy. As our Principal Databricks Pre–Sales Architect at Nimble, you won’t just be delivering software; you will be winning hearts, minds, and business. You’ll be the tip of the spear for our Databricks capability —helping grow our commercial pipeline, shaping solutions with our clients and supporting the delivery of these projects. We’re looking for a proactive storyteller who can listen to clients, handle ambiguity and translate deep Databricks expertise into compelling business value, shaping bids, winning work, and setting the standard for technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving Growth & Commercial Strategy (Pre-Sales)
    • Work closely with the Growth team to shape the future: Lead technical pre-sales activities, crafting winning proposals and bids that demonstrate Nimble’s unique value proposition.
    • Trusted Advisor: Partner with prospective clients to diagnose their true pain points, designing pragmatic, high-impact solutions that turn prospects into long-term partners.
    • Identify Opportunity: Use your deep understanding of the Databricks platform and its use cases to develop solutions, propositions and go to market approaches.
    • Strategic Influence: Work directly with Nimble leadership to formulate account strategies and identify new market avenues for our Databricks capability.
  • Strategic Client Leadership
    • First on the Ground: Enjoy the autonomy of launching new engagements, navigating initial uncertainty to build high-performing delivery teams from scratch.
    • Senior Stakeholder Management: Build lasting relationships with senior client stakeholders, becoming their go-to person for technical vision and strategy.
    • Champion Nimble: Act as the face of our technical brand, fostering a unified identity and cross-pollinating knowledge across teams and domains.
  • Technical Excellence & Mentorship
    • Architectural Vision: Use the entirety of the Databricks platform, in combination with cloud provider solutions, to develop robust, pragmatic solutions. You know when to build, when to buy, and how to advocate for the right choice.
    • Set the Standard: Establish the bar for "what good looks like" across multiple teams and ensure we consistently hit it.
    • Empower Others: Mentor Senior and Lead consultants, lifting them up and giving them the confidence to drive technical initiatives.

What you Bring

  • Databricks Expertise: You have significant hands‑on experience with Databricks, delivering multiple platform implementations, backed by certifications (Databricks Data Engineer Associate minimum) and Databricks Champion status.
  • Pre‑Sales DNA: You have a proven track record in technical pre‑sales. You enjoy the thrill of the pitch and the satisfaction of a win.
  • Commercial Acumen: You possess a creative, commercially aware mindset, constantly aligning client goals with Nimble’s growth objectives.
  • Solution Minded: You understand client pain points and how they can be alleviated with Databricks, building up solutions and propositions to fit this need.
  • Engaging Communicator: You are a natural "people person" with exceptional interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with non‑technical audiences instantly.

What We Offer

  • Impactful Work: The opportunity to shape digital services that impact thousands of users across the UK.
  • Collaborative Culture: A supportive, tight‑knit environment where knowledge sharing and continuous learning are highly valued.
  • Professional Growth: Dedicated training budgets and pathways to develop your technical skills and consultancy expertise.
  • Flexible Working: A hybrid working model tailored to balance client needs with your personal well‑being.
