As a Nimans Business Development Manager (BDM), your role is focused on driving sales growth and expanding Nimans market share within a managed number of accounts. This is to be achieved by forming strategic partnerships with both vendors and customers, along with the support of the Nimans internal sales team. With a brand strategy of “Nimans First”, a BDM will need to be able to demonstrate Niman’s key USP’s, having a firm understanding of our product range and associated services, including all categories.
As BDM, you will be expected to manage an active pipeline of live opportunities – providing insight within our Business Management Team who will help support and maximise margins along with any commercial support that may be needed to close the deal. As well as uncovering and developing customers to educate them on all things Nimans, as BDM you will be expected to work with our vendor partners by hosting joined up meetings, account mapping etc. This role is customer facing and there is an expectation of spending 3 days minimum per week with customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Must have an extensive knowledge and understanding of Niman’s go to market strategy, our proposition, brand portfolio and related services.
- Channel knowledge is vital - Where we compete, who we compete against, where we add value and the ability to impress this and demonstrate to customers.
- Discipline and self-motivation – You will be required to manage, deploy, and demonstrate your own diary movements; to include – customer and vendor meetings, demonstrations, events etc.
- This individual will need to deliver concise and useful visit reports, follow these through and measure the results.
- The ability to profile the opportunity and then make own judgement on its potential productivity is required. This will come from both self and the Internal Sales teams at Niman’s.
- Meet KPI/visit criteria set out by management, to be achieved.
What you will bring to this role:
Essential
- Previous experience within a channel sales environment (IT/Telecom/AV).
- Proven success in Business Development / Strategic Account Management / Sales.
- Previous experience of sales pipeline management.
- Experience of working at a strategic level.
- Understanding the Niman’s portfolio commercially.
- Understanding the Midwich Groups divisional make up and how to articulate it.

- Field/Customer facing experience.
- Technical acumen – ability to understand and articulate Nimans Portfolio with a good level of competency.
