Salary: UP TO £33,280 per annum (£16 ph)
Position Type: Full time, Permanent. On Site.
Hours Of Work: 40 hours per week over 5 days (this includes Saturdays and evenings)
As Club Head Coach your primary focus will be to lead a team of coaches in providing a fun, safe, interactive and inspiring learning environment for all participants of the gymnastics programme. You will have the ability to constantly evaluate the programme in regard to progress and improvements of participants. You will be confident in considering and applying appropriate health & safety requirements (in line with British Gymnastics recommendations). You will lead a high-quality coaching team to ensure excellence in preparation and delivery of sessions.

You will take ownership of a rapidly developing team & support Nile Wilson Gymnastics with their future vision. You will be an experienced gymnastics coach (minimum Level 2) with the ability to confidently lead and inspire both your colleagues and gymnasts. A level of administrative experience is required, and you will be confident communicating both in person and via video chat / telephone. A key element of your role will be to compose work schedules / timetables for staffing and administrate day to day staffing requests. Positive, enthusiastic and engaging, you will be an excellent role model with a commitment to improve, develop & lead while working closely with the management team.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Programme Leadership & Delivery
- Collaborate with the Regional Head Coach (RHC) to define and implement the structure and content of the club’s gymnastics programmes.
- Lead on the coordination and delivery of the club’s awards scheme, including periodic evaluations in alignment with BG standards.
- Actively coach, lead and support sessions across the identified programmes, maintaining a regular and impactful coaching timetable.
- Supported by the RHC, carry out the evaluation and review of programme offerings, class structures, and discipline progression within the club.
- Team Management & Development
- Provide direct support, mentorship and day-to-day leadership to the club’s coaching team, in line with programmes and structure set by the RHC.
- Conduct regular coaching observations, feedback sessions, and support the creation of personalised development plans.
- Plan and deliver daily huddles and regular 1:1 check-ins to maintain team communication, motivation, and clarity.
- Support the RGM with weekly session cover arrangements, ensuring classes are adequately staffed at all times.
- Operational Responsibilities
- Support the RGM and RHC in the planning and delivery of in-club competitions, events, and parent engagement activities.
- Work with the RGM to manage and approve coach timesheets, leave requests, and maintain effective rota planning.
- Take ownership of school holiday timetable planning and support the RGM in staffing allocations, working with the wider regional team to ensure alignment and efficiency.
- Safeguarding, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure safeguarding standards are upheld at all times, working with the club’s Welfare Officer and RGM to implement best practices.
- Conduct equipment checks to ensure all apparatus is safe, stable, and adequately matted prior to use.
- Act as the First Aid lead on site when necessary and ensure first aid protocols are followed and training is up to date.
- Parent & Community Engagement
- Be an active point of contact for parents and guardians, maintaining regular, clear communication both verbally and in writing.
- Manage and respond to concerns or issues raised by parents, gymnasts, or staff in relation to the club’s recreational programmes, escalating to the RGM or RHC as required.
- Culture, Growth & Leadership
- Lead by example to foster a positive, engaging team culture, consistent with the organisation’s values.
- Support the organisation’s wider mission by contributing to club development projects and taking on additional responsibilities where appropriate.
- Promote gymnastics within the local community and support the club’s ambition to increase participation and provide an engaging experience.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Essential Minimum Level 2 British Gymnastics General/Gymnastics for all qualifications.
- Ideally you will have experience of coaching within a general gymnastics environment, working with pre-school and senior gymnasts, from beginner to intermediate level.
- Proven ability to work with, inspire and motivate all levels and ages of gymnast.
- Proven ability to work with, inspire and motivate the coaching team.
- Ability and flexibility to cover additional sessions when required e.g. holiday programme.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
- Adhere to and lead on our safeguarding and child protection policies.
