The role of the Production Shift Supervisor will improve labour cost per unit and ensure timely production by effectively managing and leading the Production team to deliver scheduled output and fulfil orders on time. Your responsibilities will include:
- Directing and overseeing the Production team to meet production schedules, ensuring timely and complete order fulfilment.
- Ensuring production staffing levels are sufficient and that all team members are properly trained, competent, and compliant with company procedures and relevant legislation.
- Setting, approving, and publishing the daily and weekly production running order.
- Controlling finished goods stock in line with agreed stock levels, ensuring availability and accuracy.
- Maintaining strict quality standards across all production and distribution activities.
- Ensuring all production output and finished goods movements are recorded daily and that all required transactions are completed accurately in Dimensions.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across production and distribution operations to reduce waste and downtime, increase throughput, and optimise processes, whilst consistently maintaining high service levels.
- Identifying and proposing productivity, welfare, and efficiency improvements to the Supply Chain Manager.
- Ensuring all health and safety training is up to date, safe working practices are consistently followed, and that all incidents and near-misses are reported.
- Collaborating with Health & Safety advisors to promote a culture of safe working.
You will:
- Be a confident individual who possesses strong leadership skills.
- Have experience working as a Team Leader within a Production and Warehouse environment, contain a strong knowledge of workplace health and safety together with a good understanding of quality management systems.
- Have the ability to interpret rules and legislation and be able to drive things through to a conclusion.
- Be experienced with SAP – not obligatory but this would be a welcome advantage!
- Be qualified to at least Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Management and Leadership training, together with A Levels or equivalent.
You will be working in a busy manufacturing environment near Wadhurst, East Sussex; due to the rural location you must have your own transport. The hours of work will be from 7.00 am to 7.00 pm, Thursday to Saturday.
