Job Overview
The Pressure Vessel Engineer II designs pressure vessel equipment for the required codes set by the customer, they work directly with the General Manager & Chief Engineer to verify that the designs meet the requested code and may review them with an third-party inspector, they also work on customer orders, new product development and improvement of existing product lines by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities

Creating the following types of details:
- Pressure Vessel designs complying with ASME Section VIII. Div.1 and PED standards, as well as other governing pressure equipment codes including but not limited to: PD 5500, EN 13445, GB-150, AS1210, TEMA
- Calculation reports for customers and inspectors related to: Vessel design, lifting analysis, wind/seismic/snow/ice loads, nozzle loads, other applicable equipment loads.
- Work with local and international Notified Bodies
- Completes any required forms and or submissions to Governing Bodies including but not limited to: ABS, CRN, DNV, Lloyd’s, KGS, KR, NK.
- Piping and tubing assemblies complying with ASME B31.3.
- Steel frame weldments for equipment
- Details for machined parts.
- Selection of component parts and materials to be used in the above drawing types and creating parts lists for procurement.
- Design Review with reference to PED standards
– Interaction with sales engineers on quoted and sold vaporizer systems.
– Interaction with procurement and manufacturing of the vaporizer systems.
– Work within the required codes on projects and provide the information to the mechanical designers working on the orders, or complete the designs by themselves.
– Work on design concepts for products or improvements for existing ones using information provided by sales engineers.
– Work with the quality department on customer specifications to ensure compliance with applicable codes, practices, standards/requirements.
– Work with the manufacturing and quality departments to monitor issues that come up during the manufacturing of equipment.
– Assembles and writes operations manuals for equipment.
– Answers customer field questions on existing equipment or new installations.
– Adheres to project schedules for jobs.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Employees are required to wear company-provided PPE as/when needed. PPE’s may include safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut-resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats & dust masks.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Qualifications
Education and Experience

- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline is required.
- Three to six (3 to 6) years’ experience in manufacturing and engineering of pressure equipment is required.
- Proficient with design software such as 2D AutoCAD & Inventor is preferred.
- Experience with Pressure vessel and heat exchanger design is required.
- Experience with Hexagon PV Elite/Code Calc or other BPV analysis program is required.
- Experience with project management.
- Exposure to cryogenic or natural gas industry is highly desired.
- Good communication skills, proven discipline to carry out assigned tasks with little supervision and proven team player.
- Advanced skills in MS Office and Project suites are required.
- Time management and organization skills.
- Previous experience with PLM Software (Product Center preferred).
- Ability to travel if needed.
