Based in London, you will be part of the London key city and UK & Ireland territory marketing team. This team will be accountable for:
- Bringing our Consumer Fields of Play to life in the city through key relationships with the faces (individuals and communities) & places that matter most to dimensionalize Running, Fitness, Football, and Lifestyle, leveraging our on-the-ground connectivity to youth, sport & culture.
- Amplifying our Concept Map through complementary executions on the ground that build off Global-Geo campaigns, eg through pinnacle activations.
- Ensuring our Nike Sport Marketplace on the ground in UK & Ireland, and especially in London, shows up as pinnacle and sharply connected to our Field of Play visions.
- Fuelling our global engine with sharp, relevant consumer insights that can scale.
We are looking for an experienced and talented marketeer with a passion for movement, a curiosity for our young consumer, and an unrelenting desire to build deeper relationships with them. A marketeer with prior retail marketing experience, and a marketeer keen to strive for better ways to engage with our consumers through testing, learning & iterating. And of course, a marketeer willing to adapt on the fly, all while maintaining a positive growth mindset.
As Specialist II, Retail Marketing, Retail Brand, you will be part of the London UK & Ireland Retail Marketing function, reporting directly to the Manager, Retail Marketing. In this role core duties will include:
- Obsessing the consumer journey through our Nike Stores across UK & Ireland with a special focus on London, ensuring seasonal campaigns come to life in a compelling & localized fashion for maximum brand impact.
- Collaborating with the London UK & Ireland Brand Marketing, in partnership with EMEA and Retail teams to bring to life targeted consumer experiences in store, amplifying our Consumer x Field of Play strategy.
- Executing retail brand executions both through concept map and seasonless stories across our London-based stores, to ensuring the Brand shows up in a premium fashion.
- Survey retail brand executions across all doors outside of “must win” doors, reporting back to EMEA teams.
- Survey the broader Nike Sports Marketplace through our Nike partners to ensure brand standards are met in multi brand environments.
In this role you will work fluidly across the full London UK & Ireland marketing team, working with cross-functional marketing partners to bring your vision to life for our consumers in the city. You will work closely with the Nike Direct team, at London UK & Ireland and EMEA level, and you will also work closely with the EMEA Retail Brand team to stay abreast of latest strategies and help share best practices. You will report directly into the Manager, Retail Marketing, Retail Brand London UK & Ireland. You will also work cross-functionally in the London office with key partners such as Consumer Insights in service of our athletes, consumers and members. The shape of your day-to-day work will vary significantly, and therefore your style and influence will have to adapt accordingly. You therefore must be collaborative, intuitive, and maximise the effectiveness of individual as well as collective thinking. You must be open to the opinions and expertise of those you engage with in order to apply coherent strategy and thinking that leads to new opportunities.
A successful candidate will be expected to clearly demonstrate and articulate experience of the below essential requirements in order to be considered. Candidates that meet these criteria will then be assessed based on the competencies also outlined below.
Essential requirements:
- Experience in retail marketing within a corporate function, with a strong focus on physical storytelling and activations.
- Experience in a corporate environment, with the ability to work cross functionally with multiple city and EMEA stakeholders.
- A clear understanding of youth and sport culture, with a sharp focus on Gen Z consumer.
- Experience in briefing and managing agencies to deliver marketing strategies at a high standard.
- A demonstrable knowledge of the UK & Ireland consumer with a focus on London; the cities and Nike’s position within them, with a track record of making strategic marketing decisions within these environments.
- A desire & willingness to adapt in an agile fashion to our consumers’ and organisation’s needs to deepen our relationships with members.
- An understanding of the sporting goods retail landscape from competitors to multi brand environments across London.
- Experience in initiatives that drive traffic and lift conversion in stores.
- A sharp and concise communicator in both written and oral.
- Passionate about sport (participating or spectating) and a Nike fan.
