Sampling Technician

Summary:
Nijhuis Saur Industries is one of the UK\’s leading Water Hygiene and Treatment Companies, providing cooling tower engineering and environmental solutions across the UK.

We are seeking Sampling Technicians on an ad-hoc basis. The Sampling Technicians will report to the Project Manager and will be responsible for sampling at wastewater treatment sites, bathing waters, and catchment rivers, following company procedures, and delivering samples to laboratories and depots promptly.

Responsibilities:

• Visit sampling locations to collect samples as per the schedule set by the Project Manager.
• Plan daily routes efficiently to ensure timely and cost-effective sampling.
• Collect samples following company, South West Water, and Environment Agency procedures.
• Complete all necessary paperwork, including sample sheets and calibration records.
• Install and download temperature loggers, ensuring temperature ranges are maintained.
• Follow Quality, Environmental, and H&S procedures during sampling.
• Transport samples to laboratories according to procedures.
• Maintain and calibrate sampling equipment and instruments.
• Assist with other operational activities as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience in wastewater and environmental sampling techniques.
• Strong commitment to building positive relationships with colleagues.
• Team-oriented with a focus on self-development.
• Ability to exercise initiative and communicate clearly.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
