Summary: Involves performing planned and reactive mechanical and electrical maintenance for a portfolio of client sites, responding to emergency breakdowns, diagnosing and repairing faults, ensuring safety compliance, and using CAFM systems to manage tasks and report on work. Key responsibilities include servicing HVAC Systems, Water Systems and appliances throughout, Compliance tasks including L8 Water quality, boilers, pumps, lighting, control systems, and providing customer service. Qualifications to include relevant technical qualifications or apprenticeships, a valid UK driving licence, and experience with M&E systems. Duties and Responsibilities: Planned Maintenance (PPM): Carry out scheduled maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems. Reactive Maintenance: Respond to emergency breakdowns, diagnose faults, and perform repairs on equipment such as water services, pumps, air handling units, boilers and cooling systems. Fault Diagnosis: Identify and resolve technical issues with M&E plant and equipment. Safety & Compliance: Ensure work adheres to health, safety, and environmental standards, and maintain site compliance. Record Keeping: Use CAFM systems and electronic tools to log work, manage assets, and maintain accurate records. Contractor Supervision: Oversee the work of third-party contractors when required. Client Liaison: Provide timely, professional support to clients and ensure a high level of customer service. Report Writing: Provide clear and detailed information for reports and emails including condition and dilapidation reports. Required Skills/Qualifications: Technical Expertise: A strong background in mechanical/ electrical systems and services within commercial buildings. Qualifications: A recognised apprenticeship or technical qualifications in mechanical and electrical disciplines. Certifications: May include Plumbing and mechanical systems, 18th Edition Electrical Certification, Legionella awareness (L8), Controls systems. Fault-Finding: Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities. Technical Documents: Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics. CAFM Systems: Familiarity with Computer-Aided Facility Management systems. Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is usually required to travel between sites. Flexibility: Ability to work flexibly, including potential overtime and on-call duties. Typical Work Environment: Mobile: Engineers travel between various client sites, such as commercial buildings and corporate environments. On-site Operations: The work involves hands-on maintenance and repair of building plant and systems. Collaboration: Work with planning/dispatch teams and other engineers to manage workloads and support colleagues. Working for us means: The salary is between £34,000 & £42,000 per year, depending on your professional experience. Holidays 25 plus Bank Holidays Company Van & Fuel Card Probationary Period – 6 months. Pension – Can join immediately or auto enrolled after 3 months – Employee 5% and Employer 5% via salary sacrifice. Eligible to join Private Healthcare after successfully completing probation. Enrolled in Group Income Protection and Death in Service (4 x basic salary) upon commencement of employment. Notice – 1 week during probation, increasing to 1 month thereafter.
