Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented, enthusiastic and flexible Graduate Field Scientist to support our Environmental, Flood Risk and Wastewater operations. This role involves conducting field sampling, environmental monitoring, and data collection to evaluate the quality and impact of wastewater discharges on the environment. The ideal candidate has experience with environmental fieldwork and a commitment to protecting health and the environment. Duties and Responsibilities: Process, validate, and maintain environmental water quality data from field and laboratory sources. Ensure accurate and timely entry of data into databases and information systems. Assist with preparation of technical reports and client deliverables. Support the QA/QC process by identifying data anomalies. Carry out water quality sampling and waste water sampling in line with company procedures. Track and manage the logistics of sample collection, transport, and laboratory submissions. Maintain detailed records of sample custody, chain-of-custody documentation, and field logs. When required, support flood risk and drainage engineers to carry our field work. Conduct laboratory analysis and testing as required. Produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements. Supporting health & safety compliance tracking (vehicle checks, training renewals and KPI reporting). Required Skills/Qualifications (Essential): Diploma or degree in Environmental Science, Geography, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Experience with environmental sampling, fieldwork coordination, or scientific data entry. Valid driver’s license. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and data management software. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work flexibly and within a team. Required Skills/Qualifications (Desirable): Experience with water quality monitoring programs and chain-of-custody procedures. Familiarity with GIS software or environmental data platforms. Knowledge of environmental regulations and standards. Understanding of laboratory practices and processes. Knowledge of Flood Risk and SuDS. Working for us means: The salary is £27,000. Holidays – 25 days + statutory. Probationary Period – 6 months. Pension – Can join immediately or auto enrolled after 3 months – Employee 5% and Employer 5% via salary sacrifice. Eligible to join Private Healthcare after successfully completing probation. Enrolled in Group Income Protection and Death in Service (4 x basic salary) upon commencement of employment. Notice – 1 week during probation, increasing to 1 month thereafter.
