Summary: The Finance Manager / Head of Management Accounting is responsible for leading the management accounting function and managing a team of Management Accountants. The role ensures the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting, performance analysis, and business partnering across the organisation. Reporting into the Financial Controller, the role also supports budgeting and forecasting activities and contributes to strategic financial planning. Duties and Responsibilities: Lead and manage the Management Accounting team, providing guidance, support, and development. Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and insightful commentary. Assist the Financial Controller in the budgeting and forecasting processes. Develop and maintain financial reporting tools and dashboards to support performance monitoring. Partner with operational and departmental teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and financial policies. Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and reporting. Support strategic initiatives, including cost analysis, investment appraisals, and business cases. Required Skills/Qualifications: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). – AAT fully qualified with experience would be considered Proven experience in management accounting and financial analysis. Strong leadership skills with experience managing finance teams. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. Advanced Excel skills and experience with Sage systems Project financial control experience would be advantageous Key Competencies Leadership and team development Analytical thinking and attention to detail Commercial awareness Effective communication and collaboration Process improvement mindset Working for us means: The salary is £60,000 per year, depending on your professional experience. Holidays – 25 days + 8 statutory days Probationary Period – 6 months. Pension – Can join immediately or auto enrolled after 3 months – Employee 5% and Employer 5% via salary sacrifice. Eligible to join Private Healthcare after successfully completing probation. Enrolled in Group Income Protection and Death in Service (4 x basic salary) upon commencement of employment. Notice – 1 week during probation, increasing to 1 month thereafter.
