Job Overview
We are looking for a professional Mandarin Chinese Translator / Interpreter to support a Leadership Development Programme involving business and basic technical/engineering discussions. The role requires simultaneous interpretation for approximately 25 Chinese-speaking delegates during live sessions. The ideal candidate should have excellent fluency in both Mandarin and English, strong communication skills, and prior experience in corporate or technical interpreting assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide real-time simultaneous interpretation between English and Mandarin during training sessions and presentations
- Support communication for leadership, business, and technical discussions
- Ensure accurate translation of spoken content while maintaining tone and context
- Collaborate with presenters and stakeholders before sessions for preparation
- Review presentation materials and briefing documents in advance
- Coordinate with onsite teams regarding interpretation equipment and setup
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality throughout the engagement
Required Qualifications
- Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin and English
- Proven experience in simultaneous interpretation
- Experience supporting corporate training, leadership programs, or business events
- Strong listening, communication, and multitasking abilities
- Comfortable interpreting business and basic technical/engineering terminology
- Ability to work in fast-paced live environments
