We specialise in providing Supported Accommodation for single homeless and vulnerable individuals, with a strong focus on addressing both their social and personal development needs. Our flagship initiative, the ‘Wrap Around’ project, reflects our commitment to professionalism, effectiveness, and continuous improvement. Developed through comprehensive evaluation, the project complements existing statutory and voluntary services without duplication. By working collaboratively with other agencies, we ensure a holistic and coordinated approach that maximises outcomes for those we support.
As part of our long-term sustainability strategy, we are actively expanding our supported accommodation services across Halton, Warrington, the Liverpool City Region, and neighbouring boroughs. This growth also includes an increasing focus on mental health support, enabling us to offer a more comprehensive range of services to our beneficiaries. Scope and Limits of Authority
The post holder will be responsible for handling sensitive information with care and ensuring compliance with the requirements of external funding projects related to NCNW services. It is essential that you take full responsibility for understanding and adhering to your personal duties and organisational policies. Additionally, you will support the Accommodation Manager in the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of your department, while also providing assistance as needed across other areas of the organisation, including mental health, reception and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accommodation Department, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, effectively and in accordance with NCNW’s policies and procedures.
- Promptly notify the Accommodation Manager of any issues or concerns arising in relation to beneficiaries or accommodation premises.
- Provide face-to-face support to beneficiaries, including those presenting challenging behaviours, to proactively resolve conflicts and deliver supportive accommodation services.
- Initiate police checks and conduct comprehensive risk assessments upon receipt of referrals, presenting findings to the panel to determine eligibility and suitability for the service.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date and confidential beneficiary records in compliance with safeguarding, GDPR and organisational protocols.
- Record and document all relevant interactions, including telephone calls, house checks and internal or multi-agency meetings, ensuring all client case notes and systems are updated accordingly.
- Conduct regular beneficiary, room and house checks utilising body cameras in line with NCNW’s health & safety and safeguarding procedures.
- Support the mental health department by sharing relevant beneficiary information to facilitate appropriate referrals to mental health services.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with external agencies to promote NCNW services and enhance referral opportunities.
- Assist managers in service delivery by managing incoming referrals, coordinating appointments and ensuring a smooth flow of support for beneficiaries.
- Collect weekly food donations from various partner organisations and surplus agencies as part of NCNW’s support services.
- Demonstrate flexibility and initiative by working independently while maintaining collaborative relationships with team members and adhering to all NCNW policies and procedures.
- Respond appropriately to any child protection or vulnerable adult concerns, maintaining accurate records and reporting all safeguarding matters to designated safeguarding officers in line with NCNW’s safeguarding children and adults policies.
- Provide cover during staff absences, including annual leave, sickness and training, and participate in the staff rota, including Tuesday and Thursday late-night shifts and emergency on-call duties.
- Manage telephone communications effectively, including taking and passing on accurate messages and referrals to relevant staff and departments.
- Take responsibility for personal health, safety and security when engaging with beneficiaries and their families.
Additional Responsibilities and Compliance
Note: NCNW does not permit lone working by any staff or volunteers. Attend regular team meetings and contribute to discussions by providing updates on progress, beneficiary issues and service delivery. Actively engage in all NCNW staff development activities, including induction programmes, safeguarding training, management supervision and regular work reviews. Take ownership of personal learning and professional development to enhance performance and contribution to the organisation. Promote and uphold NCNW’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and contribute to the overall health, safety and wellbeing of all service users and staff. Support the organisation in achieving its contractual objectives and performance targets across all service areas. Assist with the promotion and delivery of NCNW services, including attendance at events and promotional activities outside of regular office hours when required. All the above duties are non-exhaustive, and you may be required to carry out additional duties or tasks given by NCNW CEO or the management team.
