Salary Scale: £29,137.15 to £36,057.26 (FTE) with 15% enhancements for night and 26% enhancement for weekend work.

Join our forward-thinking clinical and patient services team as an exceptional Staff Nurse in our dedicated multi-disciplinary team on our state-of-the-art newly redeveloped Inpatient Unit, providing assessment, symptom management, and end-of-life care to our patients.
Length of stay can range from a few days to a few weeks. You will provide holistic person-centred care, integrating nursing care with psychosocial, physical, rehabilitative, and spiritual needs. You need to demonstrate evidence-based practice, up-to-date clinical skills, flexibility, and a commitment to high-quality, effective, and efficient nursing care.
There is a comprehensive induction with an individual mentor and opportunities for professional development. Palliative care/oncology experience is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:- Work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic person-centred care, integrating nursing care with psychosocial and spiritual needs.
- Assist with initial and ongoing assessment of patient and family needs and develop skills as a named nurse.
- Act as an associate nurse to plan, initiate, supervise, and participate in patient and family care, discussing issues with senior team members as appropriate.
- Evaluate and update nursing care plans in response to the changing problems/needs of patients and families.
- Monitor nursing practice, encouraging development of colleagues through discussion of current and proposed care plans.
- Maintain appropriate and adequate records of your work at all times.
- Maintain effective communication with patients and families throughout their contact with the hospice, providing when necessary:
- Telephone support and advice
- Access to nursing/medical staff for conditional information or future planning
- Information and access to allied professionals
- Bereavement support and access to follow-up support
