Nightingale Hospital is the only private mental health hospital in Central London, with over 30 years of experience in delivering specialised, evidence-based treatments in outpatient, day patient and inpatient settings.
Our dedicated team of specialists are committed to the diagnosis and treatment of all types of mental health conditions, including eating disorders and addictions. The main purpose of the job
- Preparing meals for patients in the hospital, under the guidance of the Head Chef and Sous chef.
- To prepare, cook and present dishes in accordance with specialty
- Supervise and assist members of staff working with you
- Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef to create and develop new dishes and menus
- Monitor portion and waste control.
- Ensure you and your team maintain a high standard of cleanliness and food hygiene, meeting required quality standards
- Ensure the rules relating to health and safety are adhered to at all times
- Responsible for keeping up-to-date with hospital policies and procedures
Requirements
- Health & safety and food hygiene course certificates
- A minimum of 3 years kitchen experience
- Pastry skills
- Exceptional presentation with a passion for food
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to delegate appropriately
- A flexible approach towards shift requirements and to undertake tasks as requested by the Head Chef.
- Ability to undertake all mandatory training.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written
