Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in day to day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment
- Maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality
- Support service users with preparation of meals, laundry duties, cleaning and social events
- Maintain accurate notes and records as and when required
- Work as part of a team to provide high quality care
- Personal Care support
- Support with community base activities
Personal Characteristics and Qualifications:
- Diploma (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards one
- Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, physical disabilities, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues
- Ability to keep calm under pressure
- Confidence to work alone or as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Passion to work with vulnerable adults
- Desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding
- Driver preferred
- Working knowledge of PBS approach
- Self-motivated to support service users to plan their activities within community as well as at home
