Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in day to day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment
  • Maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality
  • Support service users with preparation of meals, laundry duties, cleaning and social events
  • Maintain accurate notes and records as and when required
  • Work as part of a team to provide high quality care
  • Personal Care support
  • Support with community base activities

Personal Characteristics and Qualifications:

  • Diploma (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards one
  • Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, physical disabilities, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure
  • Confidence to work alone or as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Passion to work with vulnerable adults
  • Desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding
  • Driver preferred
  • Working knowledge of PBS approach
  • Self-motivated to support service users to plan their activities within community as well as at home
