Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Health Care Assistant (Bank) to join our team within a reputable care home specialising in senior care. This role offers flexibility for those looking to contribute to high-quality care on an ad hoc basis. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and a compassionate approach to supporting elderly residents. Previous supervising experience and familiarity with care plans are essential, along with a proactive attitude towards delivering personalised care.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate support and assistance to residents, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times
- Supervise and mentor junior care staff, promoting best practices in care delivery
- Assist in the development, implementation, and review of personalised care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Administer medication and assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure seamless care coordination
- Support the organisation of activities that promote residents’ wellbeing and engagement
- Ensure adherence to health and safety policies within the care environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience working within a care home setting specialising in senior care
- Supervising or leadership experience in a healthcare environment is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
- Competent in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes
- Valid driving licence is preferred but not essential; willingness to travel between sites if required
- Knowledge of care plans, safeguarding procedures, and regulatory compliance standards
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in enhancing the quality of life for elderly residents
