We are looking for female Support workers to join our team in Basildon, supporting a fun-loving lady in her early 60s who lives independently in her own bungalow. This is a 30-hour part-time role, ideal for someone with experience supporting people with complex behaviour, autism, or behaviours of distress.
She requires 2:1 support and has worked hard to build her independence. You’ll be supported with robust behaviour support training, clear protocols, and an experienced, long-standing team with excellent retention.
Your role will include engaging in the hobbies she absolutely loves, including anything pink, sparkly, or fluffy, arts and crafts, photos, FaceTime and fun interactions, coffee mornings at the community centre next door and shopping trips.
Day-to-day support includes:
- Providing consistent, reassuring, and skilled support during behaviours of distress.
- Supporting with cooking, daily routines, medication and attending medical appointments.
- Supporting her mobility (wheelchair/frame when out of home).
- Maintaining safe, positive routines that help her manage expectations and change.
- Encouraging her relationships – especially her regular contact with her brother and friends.
Free parking is available directly outside the bungalow, and the location is easily commutable from Southend, Wickford, Pitsea, Laindon, Billericay, Stanford-le-Hope, and surrounding areas.
Shifts: 7:00am–2:30pm and/or 2:30pm–10:00pm. No long days. You will be required to work alternate weekends, Sleep-ins, and very occasional waking nights.
