We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and proactive people to join our team in Buxton, supporting a gentleman in his 40s who lives in his own home. Every day will be busy and rewarding, as you encourage and empower him to maintain his independence, develop new skills and embrace new opportunities.

Life with him is centred around going for drives in his car and walking outdoors, and these are the moments where he feels most content. He is able to do many things independently, but he may need encouragement or support with personal care and cooking. He communicates through gestures and objects of reference rather than words, and he builds unique relationships with those who support him. At times he may experience behaviours of distress, so staff need to be confident and resilient when supporting him through these moments.

What matters most is that the people around him are patient, understanding and committed to helping him live a life that feels safe and fulfilling. We are seeking drivers with a UK or EU manual licence and access to a car, as this is essential for commuting. Experience in supporting behaviours of distress is preferred, but we also welcome people who are willing to learn. Full SKIP training will be provided, and no prior experience in Positive Behaviour Support is required. What matters most is that you bring a genuine passion for helping people live fulfilling lives.

Support is provided around the clock on a two-to-one basis, with two staff members sleeping in overnight. Shifts follow a rota pattern and include early shifts from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm, late shifts from 2:30 pm to 10:00 pm, and sleep-ins from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am. Long days can also be considered, and you will be expected to work every other weekend and cover bank holidays.

Benefits of Working with Dimensions:

  • Competitive pay rate, with uplift for any overtime you choose to work.
  • 30 days paid annual leave, rising to 35 (including public holidays – pro rata).
  • Award-winning career development and genuine opportunities for progression.
  • High Street Discounts – including supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, and cinemas.
  • Life Assurance and a Company Pension Scheme.
  • Industry-leading training, including specialist support.
  • Enhanced DBS check paid for by us.
  • Salary Advance Scheme – access up to 50% of earned pay before payday.
