About the opportunity: This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Organisational Effectiveness Lead (Organisational Design) to play a key part in the transformation journey of this fast growing organisation and make a real impact. This person will be the central point that sets the Organisational Effectiveness agenda whilst collaborating with senior leaders to influence and shape how change is delivered to the business.

Key elements of the role include:

  • Establish the organisation's approach to Organisational Effectiveness (Org Design), take ownership of the OE function in line with the organisation's strategic priorities.
  • Develop the foundations of OE, establish clear principles and develop appropriate measures and metrics in order to monitor progress.
  • Clearly set the OE agenda, champion the approach and articulate the agenda clearly with business leaders.
  • Play a key role in the Governance Forums, working in partnership with the Executive Team and SLT, ensuring that OE principles are incorporated with all people changes and recruitment activities.
  • Coach and support the People Partners to have a direct impact on the approach.
  • Work in partnership with a wide variety of stakeholders including Senior People Team, Exec and SLT, Talent Development team and Reward.
  • Provide data and insights to inform the business and set the agenda, providing clear and engaging messaging.
  • Enabling behavioural change.

This role could be based in Manchester, Derbyshire or Essex with UK travel required. Manchester is the main hub. Hybrid working available (60/40).

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Be a true expert in Organisational Effectiveness and Organisational Design (not organisational development) and have operated within a large and complex organisation (matrix ideally 2,000+ colleagues).
  • Have prior experience of developing the principles as well as creating the frameworks and approach.
  • Truly understand OE and the link to business performance.
  • Be able to articulate the OE strategy in clear and simple terms, take people on the journey.
  • Have proven experience of building strong relationships and influence effectively across all levels through to the Exec team.
  • Be comfortable utilising data and insights for decision making.
  • Have a strong coaching style and ability to develop others.
  • Be confident in challenging senior stakeholders and holding others to account.
  • Trade Union experience would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Fit in well with the wider team and friendly culture.
