The Business Intelligence & AI Lead will play a key role in supporting the continued growth and transformation of the business.

Reporting into the Executive Leadership Team, this role will be responsible for developing and leading the organisation's business intelligence, reporting and AI capabilities, helping to improve decision-making, increase operational efficiency and support future growth.

The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across all areas of the organisation, building reporting solutions, delivering meaningful business insights and identifying opportunities to leverage AI and automation.

This is a hands-on role that combines Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Process Improvement and AI implementation, with a strong focus on delivering measurable commercial value.

Key responsibilities

  • Business Intelligence & Reporting
  • Develop, enhance and maintain the organisation's business intelligence and reporting capability.
  • Build and improve Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions across key business functions.
  • Deliver real-time management information and performance reporting to support strategic decision-making.
  • Provide insight into sales, operations, production, stockholding and wider business performance.
  • Ensure data is accurate, accessible and actionable for stakeholders across the organisation.
  • AI & Automation
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve business performance.
  • Implement practical AI solutions that increase efficiency, reduce manual effort and minimise operational risk.
  • Utilise technologies such as Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate and other AI-enabled platforms to streamline workflows.
  • Deliver automation initiatives that generate measurable operational and commercial benefits.
  • Develop a roadmap for future AI adoption and continuous improvement across the business.
  • Process Improvement
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand current processes, challenges and opportunities.
  • Map business processes and identify areas where technology, automation and improved reporting can drive efficiencies.
  • Prioritise improvement initiatives based on business impact and return on investment.
  • Lead projects from concept through to implementation and adoption.
  • Drive continuous improvement across data, reporting and operational processes.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Partner with senior leadership and operational teams across the business.
  • Translate business requirements into practical reporting, analytics and AI solutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on business intelligence, reporting, data and process improvement initiatives.
  • Present insights, recommendations and business cases to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support organisational change and encourage adoption of new technologies and ways of working.
  • Candidate profile

Experience

  • Proven experience in a Business Intelligence, Data Analytics or Data & AI leadership role.
  • Strong experience developing reporting and dashboard solutions using Power BI.
  • Advanced SQL and data management skills.
  • Experience implementing AI, automation or self-service analytics solutions.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ability to operate strategically whilst remaining hands-on when required.
  • Experience working with ERP reporting environments would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to translate technology into measurable business value.
  • Highly organised and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Curious, proactive and passionate about emerging AI technologies.
  • Confident influencing senior stakeholders and challenging existing ways of working.
  • Comfortable working autonomously whilst collaborating across the wider organisation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality delivery.

The role offers a salary of £50,000 - £80,000, dependent on experience, alongside a comprehensive benefits package.
