I am looking for a Skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a high‑performing engineering function. This role blends elements of software engineering, DevOps, and modern SRE practices, offering the opportunity to work across cloud platforms, observability tools, and backend systems. You will sit within a collaborative engineering team and contribute to building reliable, scalable, API‑driven services that support business‑critical platforms.
What you'll Be Doing:
- Developing and maintaining backend services using modern programming languages (e.g., Java, TypeScript or similar).
- Designing and operating cloud‑based workloads on a major public cloud provider (e.g., serverless, containers, storage, and managed databases).
- Implementing SRE principles including SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, incident reduction, and resilience engineering.
- Enhancing system observability using monitoring and logging platforms (e.g., DataDog or equivalent).
- Supporting the creation and improvement of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Ensuring customer‑facing services remain highly available and performant.
- Collaborating closely with software engineers, DevOps specialists, product teams, and QA.
- Troubleshooting production issues, participating in incident reviews and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
What I'm Looking For:
- Strong grounding in software engineering with experience working across full lifecycle development.
- Solid experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), ideally including infrastructure‑as‑code tooling.
- Working knowledge of observability/monitoring platforms and best practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes, build pipelines, and automation.
- Ability to work in API‑first environments, building and maintaining scalable service architectures.
- Comfort working in agile engineering teams and contributing to multi‑disciplinary projects.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to problem‑solve, analyse systems end‑to‑end, and identify improvement opportunities.
Why this Role Could Suit You:
- Opportunity to join a team operating modern engineering and SRE practices.
- Strong focus on ownership, autonomy, experimentation, and continuous learning.
- Hybrid working and a collaborative engineering culture.
- Exposure to modern technologies across backend, cloud, observability and DevOps tooling.
