I am seeking an experienced
Group Infrastructure Engineer to join a growing IT team.
This is a hands‑on technical role responsible for delivering infrastructure projects, maintaining core IT systems, and supporting the ongoing development of a modern Microsoft and cloud‑based environment.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external technology partners, you will take ownership of technical projects from planning and design through to implementation and support, while acting as an escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of infrastructure and systems projects from design through to successful rollout.
- Plan, scope, document and manage technical projects to agreed timescales.
- Support and maintain server, cloud, network and end‑user infrastructure.
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Work with third‑party technology partners to enhance and maintain infrastructure services.
- Support the achievement and maintenance of security and compliance accreditations.
- Provide mentoring and technical guidance to colleagues.
- Identify opportunities for technical and process improvements.
- Ensure all infrastructure changes follow appropriate governance and change management processes.
- Produce and maintain high‑quality technical documentation
Skills & Responsibilities
- Strong troubleshooting skills across server, cloud and network technologies.
- Experience resolving complex infrastructure issues and managing escalations.
- Experience with virtualisation technologies, including VMware and Azure Iaa S.
- Microsoft 365
- Windows Server
- SQL Server
- Good understanding of networking concepts and infrastructure services.
- Experience mentoring colleagues and promoting best practices.
- Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
- Sophos security technologies
- Routing and switching
- Experience supporting compliance frameworks such as ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus.
