A well-established technical business is seeking a confident and ambitious Tech Sales Manager to join their expanding commercial team. This newly created position offers an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a forward-thinking, well established organisation.

The ideal candidate will come from a technical, engineered, or specialist product sales background, with experience in sectors such as aviation, automotive, nuclear, manufacturing, precision engineering, or other high-integrity industrial environments. This role combines office and field responsibilities, with regular travel to customer sites, training sessions and industry events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grow, manage and develop a portfolio of technical and industrial clients.
  • Use a consultative selling approach to understand customer challenges and recommend the right technical solutions.
  • Generate new business opportunities and build long-term, strategic customer relationships.
  • Conduct field visits, technical demonstrations, customer reviews and follow-up consultations.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless customer experience and high-quality service delivery.
  • Provide accurate reporting, forecasting and insight to support commercial decision-making.
  • Represent the business at trade shows, technical training sessions and customer workshops.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in technical sales, ideally within sectors such as aviation, automotive, nuclear, precision engineering, industrial supplies, chemicals, or engineered products.
  • Strong consultative approach, able to interpret customer needs and translate them into solution-based proposals.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to engage at all levels.
  • Confident communicator with a commercial mindset and strong organisational ability.
  • Comfortable managing a regional field-based role with regular travel.
  • HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering (or similar technical discipline) highly desirable.
  • Proactive, driven and committed to delivering outstanding customer service.
