R Tindall Fabricators is a growing manufacturing business supplying fabricated pipework solutions to customers across the UK and internationally.
The business has experienced significant growth in recent years, increasing from a single-site operation to multiple locations and establishing an international presence in Dubai.
With ambitious plans for further expansion, the company is now investing in the systems, processes and people required to support the next stage of its journey.
The Role
We are looking to appoint a Head of Supply Chain to lead the development of a more structured and scalable supply chain function.
This is a newly created role that will take ownership of purchasing, inventory management, supplier performance and international supply chain activities.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will review current processes, introduce forecasting and planning disciplines, improve stock control and develop stronger supplier relationships across both UK and international markets.
Key responsibilities includes
- Managing an annual material spend of approximately £8-9m
- Improving forecasting, inventory management and stock visibility
- Establishing supplier performance measures and procurement processes.
- Developing relationships with existing and new suppliers globally
- Supporting sourcing activity across the UK, UAE, Turkey and China.
- Managing import/export activities, customs requirements and freight operations.
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste and support continued business growth
- The Person
We are looking for an experienced supply chain professional who enjoys creating structure within a growing business environment.
You will ideally have
- Previous experience in a Head of Supply Chain, Supply Chain Manager, Procurement Manager or Purchasing Manager role.
- Experience managing international sourcing and supply chains.
- Strong knowledge of import/export processes, customs documentation and freight management.
- Experience improving planning, forecasting and inventory control processes.
- Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
- The ability to use data to support decision-making and drive operational improvements.
- A hands-on approach and the confidence to challenge existing ways of working when necessary.
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering, industrial or related sectors.
This role would particularly suit someone who has worked within a larger, more established organisation and is looking for the opportunity to build and develop a function within a fast-growing business.
