I am seeking a skilled and strategic Infrastructure Architect to design, implement, and oversee my clients core IT infrastructure. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of our IT environment, including cloud and on-premise systems. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, architecture design skills, and a strong understanding of business needs.
Salary: £70,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain scalable and secure infrastructure architectures (cloud, hybrid, and on-premise).
- Define infrastructure standards, patterns, and best practices.
- Lead infrastructure design for new systems and services, including integration with existing platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across IT and business units to translate business requirements into infrastructure solutions.
- Develop documentation including architecture diagrams, roadmaps, and technical specifications.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve resilience, performance, and cost-efficiency.
- Oversee implementation of disaster recovery, backup strategies, and high availability configurations.
- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and data privacy requirements.
- Guide and mentor infrastructure engineers and support teams.
- Engage in incident and problem management as an escalation point.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years in infrastructure engineering with at least 3 years in an architecture or design role.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- In-depth knowledge of networking, virtualization, storage, and security concepts.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Hands-on experience with monitoring tools, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to create and present detailed architectural documentation and reports.
Desirable:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, TOGAF, Azure Architect).
